It was raining out, and I was just enjoying it from the corridor. Here the word “enjoy” will be an ‘injustice’, as I was left with no other options. In fact, I was just passing away the time, then I took out my Acer laptop to have some fun.
After navigating several online entertainment portals, I stopped at a site, which was looking quite amusing. I selected some video clips. But when I clicked the “play” button, I was aghast to see the error message, “Windows Media Player cannot play, burn, rip, or sync the file because a required audio codec is not installed on your computer.” I was quite disgusted at the moment.
I called up the
Acer tech Support to fix the sound problem, fortunately, my call was picked by a technician, who took the responsibility, and installed the codecs remotely besides configuring the Media Player for automatic update of codecs.
In no time I was able to stream the rich media content; I thanked the

On the “Tools” menu, click “Options.”
Click the “Player” tab, click to select the “Download codecs automatically” check box, and then click “OK.”

Last week I bought an Hp printer for home usage. Like an excited kid I opened the packing to set-up and install the printer with my IBM desktop. I read the user-manual so as to avoid any hassle.
I was confident in doing so on my own as I had read that Windows 7 has an automatic printer configuration mechanism. I just plugged the USB printer-head into computer and turned on the machine. Then I restarted the system.
What happened next jolted me. An error popped up with the numeric code “Win 7 Printer Problems 0x0000007b and 0x00000002”, I did it again, and it happened again.
I was doing absolutely as per the manual, and there was nothing wrong in the process. So I thought of calling
IBM Support to fix the problem. I surfed for a while and got the
IBM number which was luckily toll-free. Next moment, I was in touch with an IBM expert.
After collecting some basic system information a technician took the remote access of my desktop to check the problem. He told me that there is some conflict with the printer driver, and the one which I had installed is not compatible with Windows 7.
Later he found a suitable one and installed it. He setup and configured the printer. He also sent an article on how to share printer on the home network.
The troubleshooting hardly took 5-10 minutes; I was surprised with the

After taking a brief
Compaq review, I finally narrowed down myself to Compaq Presario laptop. It is good on part of portability and performance with accentuated graphic features. Its 802.11b/g/n WLAN and Bluetooth features are enough to keep me connected with the home network. Though, it’s a bit low on the battery performance, as boasted on the site ‘up to 10 hrs’.
But overall I was quite happy with my decision.All was going smooth for couple of months till I struck the mayhem. Actually, I installed a printer driver on the machine and was trying to setup and configure my hp printer device with the laptop. It didn’t respond at all. I tried by un-plugging and re-plugging cables, even restored my laptop to previous configuration but all was hogwash, and I landed nowhere. What happened next was really like falling into fire from a frying pan. I restarted the machine, and the whole screen turned blue. Literally, I was scared.
Suddenly, I recalled
Compaq Number , which was available with my son’s mobile. With no delay I took the charge to resolve the issue. I contacted
Compaq support , and fortunately a technician entertained me. He instructed me to start the laptop in the safe mode, and later took the remote access of the system. After diagnostics he found the printer driver was a fake one, and was actually a payload for virus and malware. He then removed those from the machine, and installed a genuine printer driver.
And within 10 minutes, the problem was fixed, and the printer was connected. Now, it was responding well, I took a print-test to ensure, and did payment for the service.
It was a great technical help I ever had.
